We have developed our own technique when remapping vehicles which we have designed to cover the all aspects of potential problems that we have experienced over twenty five years . Our approach is to first carry out vehicle health check. This covers fault codes and live data stream , an inlet smoke test proves that the inlet system including boost hoses and inter cooler are all intact .
Fault codes and live data checks prior to mapping..
Any faults found in diagnostics that will affect the remap will be advised before any mapping takes place . If everything is normal then we will test the vehicle in our rolling road to confirm power and torque are at a normal level this also enables us to confirm boost and air fuel ratios are correct.
At this stage if everything is good we will take a read of the engine management software , this will be re written and flashed back into the ecu this may be a port flash or in some cases it may require ecu removal and a bench flash .
Reading the engine management software..
..
The car is then retested in our rolling road to measure the gains. This process may be repeated several times until we achieve the desired results. We can tailor the software to our customers requirements for power , torque and economy or a balance of all of these . Finally when we are happy with the map the car is road tested to ensure correct driving behavior.
